Portal is the musical representation of the Colorplan Colours. The breif was to design a record sleeve whichcould be used in promotion material for the project.
What if you couldn’t see Colorplan? That’s the question that drove my concept. I learnt in my research that people with visual impairments still understand what colour is but interpret it as an abstract concept rather than a sensory concept like fully sighted people. With the wide range of unique names of Colorplan colours such as ‘forest’, could the record sleeve design provide an opportunity to create a better experience for people with visual impairments when using the record?
